                                                            Reading for November 23

Orality and Literacy: the Technologizing of the Word by Walter J. Ong,  is available through York E-Resources.  You can find it by logging into e-resources and searching the Scholar’s Portal Journal. This is a great book and will greatly aid your understanding of the course, so I do recommend reading the whole book when you get a chance.  However for our class: I will only require you to read the excerpts below: (this is longer than our usual reading - but it is more straightforward presentation of material so I am hoping not as energy consuming to decipher)

Using this copy of the book I would like you to read the following sections
